The lightweight, compact design of the Ruger® LCP® Semi-Auto Pistol make it an ideal concealed carry gun, that's comfortable to carry all day, and quick to deploy. The LCP utilizes a double-action only, hammer-fired mechanism, with the hammer recessed into the rear of the slide to prevent snagging. The double-action only firing mode makes it simple to use in stressed situations—no levers or switches to remember—just point and shoot. The LCP features low profile front and rear sights integrated onto the slide that do not snag on clothing when pistol is drawn from a concealed position, and all sharp edges have been eliminated on the LCP to aid in concealment and to reduce wear on clothing. This LCP model features an alloy steel slide with a blued finish. Right-handed shooters can comfortably reach the magazine release on the LCP with their thumb, while left-handed shooters have no problem using their trigger finger. The mag release pushes in easily, but not so easily that the magazine pops out unexpectedly. Unlike many small semi-automatic pistols that operate with a blowback action, the Ruger LCP operates on a locked-breech system, which mitigates recoil and does not necessitate the user to pull the slide back against an excessively heavy recoil spring during loading. The LCP also has a manual slide hold-open latch for inspection and cleaning. The Ruger LCP is a well-designed, reliable Semi-Auto Pistol that one can count on in an emergency. Incudes 1 magazine extension and a soft case. Made in USA.
Manufacturer model #: 3701.

Perfect Pocket Gun This is the perfect pocket gun. Reliable, shoots well, accurate enough to fill up the kill zone on a target at 15ft, and fits nice in the watch pocket of a pair of jeans. I put a hogue fitted grip sleeve on it and carry it with confidence! I find the recoil very managable. April 20, 2013
Great Compact for CCW I replaced a bulky 9mm that was carried as a CCW with the Ruger LCP .380. The LCP .380 is easily carried in the pocket of about anything and is vertically sang proof. I have used a mixture of various ammo and never once did it fail to fire or jam. Accuracy is amazing at 25'. No doubt one of the best CCW I have been privileged to own. To make the purchase even better. Sign up for the BassPro Shop MasterCard and get a nice price reduction. I did some research and found a good price comparison + MasterCard savings and bought the pistol for well under $300. December 17, 2013
Great defense pistol I shot on a military pistol team. This is by no means a match competitive pistol. However, it is very accurate. I had no trouble getting a tight pattern. I put fifty rounds in a tight 5 inch group. Yes it is a pull and shoot. But at a max of 30 feet, how can you miss. Yes, trigger pull is long, but it did not affect my accuracy, especially in a rapid fire setting. I have the crimson trace laser which I really like. The LCP is easy to field strip and clean. It is small, which limits two hand shooting on the pistol. I adapted my two hand shooting, with my left hand under the right, instead of both on the pistol grip. It is a rugged pistol and has the quality Ruger feel. December 7, 2014
cute little pistol Never thought I'd be praising a pocket pistol but oh well, yes this is a neat little gun. My usual small carry is a SIG P238 but as you know to carry "cocked and locked" though usually safe does leave one uneasy. I saw they had this Ruger little guy on sale and had to see what this pistol was all about. Research found that the Ruger LCP is the most concealed carried pistol by model. Humm..can't be too bad. Purchased it on sale and found it to be a easy carry. No sights or safety or hammer to get caught on the holster, clothing, etc. The trigger pull is constant though long. This little guy fits nicely in my hand and fits great in my front pocket. Whats not to like. Makes the perfect Summer carry. June 25, 2012

I don't know how this got in with the LCP questions. I too live in Florida & occasionally hunt hogs. I carry a Ruger Security Six 38/357 (not produced anymore) but would not recommend anything less. If you stay in Florida don't be surprised if you encounter a black bear or two either..........

A:
Nothing less powerful than a .357 Magnum for black bears, and for grizzlies, a .44 Magnum is minimum, with .454 Cassull or .500 S&W recommended if you can handle the large frame.

Thank You

No. I dont think the .380 caliber would help. I would go with the Taurus Judge, which is the .410/.45 long colt.

Is this mass compliant ? If so is it available in your foxborough location. I have been trying to find out because I am a very small framed woman and this is perfect for a conceal carry for me , I do have a conceal carry license & have had trouble finding something that's not so bulky to carry . thank you for your time.

Cannot give you specific details on your area laws or requirements, but you really do not need the crimson trace laser on this firearm. Keep in mind most confrontations happen within 6'. The laser sights battery have a short shelf life and some are very expensive to replace.

This pistol has no external safety, so I'm sure it will never be offered in California.

A:
You will need a current drivers license issued in the state of purchase. You may also need a State issued concealed carry permit or hunting/target permit to take the gun same day of sale.

Check local and state laws, but you should just need a state drivers license and possibly the completion certificate for the firearms safety course.
