Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Compact for CCW I replaced a bulky 9mm that was carried as a CCW with the Ruger LCP .380. The LCP .380 is easily carried in the pocket of about anything and is vertically sang proof. I have used a mixture of various ammo and never once did it fail to fire or jam. Accuracy is amazing at 25'. No doubt one of the best CCW I have been privileged to own. To make the purchase even better. Sign up for the BassPro Shop MasterCard and get a nice price reduction. I did some research and found a good price comparison + MasterCard savings and bought the pistol for well under $300. December 17, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by Great for CCW For your own protection you can't beat this pistol. Light ,so you will actually carry it. Accurate, at self defense distances. Follow up shots are quick if necessary. I have CT laser on mine because your not gonna have time to do all the stuff you train for shooting at paper. 250 rds so far and they all went bang. As for the caliber, I've yet to see anyone volunteer to take a hit from a 380. November 10, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great bang for the buck I love this gun it is fun and easy to shoot. I got it for my wife who has never shot before in her life and she was able to handle it and fire pretty accurate with little trigger time. I was amazed at its accuracy and have put many rounds through it without fault. I like the key safety on it, having kids it gives us that extra layer of security. Only negative is a tiny one it has a relatively long trigger and reset which some may not like however it did not hinder my or my wife's ability to put rounds down range effectively. August 31, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by nice carry gun Although I have several carry guns, I didn't have one this small that I trusted my life with. The Ruger LCP is a nice looking gun that is small enought to drop into a pocket and safe enough to carry in that manner. It has a long trigger pull that, while making it safe to carry, does require some practice to get adjusted to. My advice is to try a few of the .380's on the market to see which one works for you. Is this mass compliant ? If so is it available in your foxborough location. I have been trying to find out because I am a very small framed woman and this is perfect for a conceal carry for me , I do have a conceal carry license & have had trouble finding something that's not so bulky to carry . thank you for your time.

Cannot give you specific details on your area laws or requirements, but you really do not need the crimson trace laser on this firearm. Keep in mind most confrontations happen within 6'. The laser sights battery have a short shelf life and some are very expensive to replace.

This pistol has no external safety, so I'm sure it will never be offered in California.

You will need a current drivers license issued in the state of purchase. You may also need a State issued concealed carry permit or hunting/target permit to take the gun same day of sale.

Check local and state laws, but you should just need a state drivers license and possibly the completion certificate for the firearms safety course.

bring your drivers license (picture ID) bring a credit card
you'll be able to take it home if the background check is okay. Takes about 5-10 minutes to do the background check.
