i have never owned a pistol until this one. I have shot pistols in the military and of friends and relatives. I never had a good feel with any of them. I like big bore guns and decided to try a pistol. I did my research and headed to Bass Pro. The salesman was outstanding. I purchased the pistol and went home. I loaded the pistol and fired it from 25 yards. I put the first round within 2 inches of the bulls eye. I am now looking at getting a Ruger Super Blackhawk Hunter 44 Magnum. I will be getting it from Bass Pro.

These are quality pieces that you will be able to hand down to the next generation. I bought this gun and added hogue grips, brighter sights, and polished it to a high shine. It is very pleasing aesthetically and shoots like a dream.
There are endless possiblilties for aftermarket additions for the GP100. They are very accurate with little to no recoil. I have a buddy that even takes down whitetails within 40 yards with his.

Bought mine at a local pistol range in June and now realize I made the right choice. I also looked at the Taurus .357 but it is not as well built as the Ruger.
When I shoot .38 rounds I can not feel any recoil. The .357 has slight recoil which is reduced by the six inch barrel (.38 rounds are about $3 cheaper for target shooting. This gun is VERY accurate, easy to hold and Quality built. It's the best hand gun (3) I have. BPS has a fair price.
