I have owned my GP100 since1989. It has been a
constant sidearm. No matter the weather or conditions
this has been one of the best pistols I have ever owned. Hunting,Fishing,Home protection,Law Enforcement,my old friend has never failed me.
However my old friend was recently stolen from my truck. I will be replacing it with another. Just like the one I had with the confidence it will serve me as well as the last one. Lord forbid someone uses you for evil.
Farewell old friend wherever you may be.

Rated 4 out of 5 Solid Working Revolver
After much research this was my first purchase. The large frame makes it easy for my wife to manage recoil. She shoots .38 rounds since she has small hands/wrists and can shoot 50 bullets comfortably in one session. I adjusted the sights at my first range visit and can easily hit silhouettes out to 20 yards. I have put over 600 rounds through it and have had NO PROBLEMS. 4 stars instead of 5 because the standard sights are fairly "large", I don't like how wide the rear sight is. But like I said, I am still extremely accurate with this gun. It is a beefy-solid-tough revolver.

by retiredfellow Solid as a rock @ Price you can afford
I own many Ruger firearms and I'd say they are the best value in the firearm industry. Buy S & W and pay a fortune for it and it'll last a lifetime. Buy a Ruger and pay a modest price and it'll also last a lifetime. Great quality, great reliability, troulbe free, shoots great, accurate and feels good in the hand. They resale well too. Helps if you clean them once in a while.

Rated 5 out of 5 by littlejohntennessee Excellent fire arm
I have the GP100 in the 6 inch barrel. these are excellent firearms which handle well and are accurate. I can knock the wings off a fly at a pretty good distance with it straight out of the box. cleaning is easy with the swing out cylinder. the action is smooth with a fairly light trigger. I prefer to shoot it by pulling the hammer back first instead of the double action trigger. the rubber grips also help to absorb what little recoil is not absorbed by the weight. the gun also handles .38 special rounds quite well so my girlfriend can shoot it.
