awesome gun ive had this gun for well over a year, at first the scope was making me mad, although i read somewhere to buy a type of scope rail that will hold the scope much better, i bought it for ten bucks here at bass, ive shot thousands through it and killed alot, sad to say i bent the barrel, still works but shoots ten inches high at 20. i would definitly buy another and already ordered another, June 23, 2011
good shooter but...... grooves on the receiver are not deep enough to hold scope securely. Have tightened screws down as tight as possible, but after several shots front mount keeps jumping out of the groove. June 17, 2011
Good gun, but dealing with the scope gets frustrat The gun is a decent gun power and accuracy wise, but its heavy, loud and god the scope is frustrating. It always is falling off and putting it back on is a hassle, I think Ruger messed up with the way you put the scope on. But if your using the iron sight its a good gun, its OK for small game hunting because it takes about 5 shots to kill most anything except birds. March 25, 2011
Great for the price. Its a great rifle, louder than I thought it would be but shoots great. March 14, 2011

A:
maybe the 490fps version was harder to assemble or was more expensive to produce

A:
The best answer i can give is,its all about the politics. When you buy the full power version, you need to have your gun licence. You have already bought into the system with your courses and gun licence fees, there fore the product will be cheaper. If you dont have your licence,it will be more expensive, because they want you to think about getting your licence. The prices of the firearms north of the border for the most part are mandated by the ministery. Its complicated to explain, there really is more to it,but i hope this kind of helps.

High right one shot, low left next. Noticed pellets slide in different. Some push in EASY.. and some a bit tighter and some even TIGHTER. Not a pettet gun expert by no means but know this has to effect accuacy. Will a higher quality pellet help or did I get one of the lemons.

A:
Absolutely!! Do not use regular cheap everyday pellets. I checked around and now have proved that Crossman Premier Hollow Point is the most accurate. I can drop three in a inch circle at 40 yards. AND they penetrate critters very well.

First thing you need to do is make sure that every component of the rifle is good and tight. The scope rings must be tight also.Second, when you site in your rifle, make sure you are using the same pellets(you are rite,a higher quality pellet will make a difference).Third, make sure your rifle is good and stable when making your shots for siting.A sand bag or even better, something to clamp the rifle in place when shooting. Also make sure you aim at the same place every time,so you know how far you are out when siting.Good luck.

a tighter pellet will be the better of the two, a tight fit allows all the pressure to be forced to the pellet, the best pellets obviously are expensive i use gamo variety pack, i love them

ive killed skunks a fox, i could see using it for raccons and i def use it for squirels and pesky birds and such, i wouldnt try this on coyotes some people say it will do the job, but being a hunter i want a clean fast kill not a maybe it will die sometime a thousand yards away, stick to red tip pellets for big stuff, typical lead pellets just work fabulous on squirels and such

It really doesnt matter, you can get both versions. The 500 fps or the 1000 fps.The only difference is that you need a PAL for the 1000 fps version.Because it is concidered a fire arm.Any thing over 500 fps,you need the PAL.

check to make sure front mount has not jumped out of the groove in the receiver. I have had this problem several times and finally went with open sites. They are dead on accurate.

you must take off the scope caps and then use a coin or a flat head screw driver to tweak with the settings until it is zeroed in. The black caps on it must be taken off.

A:
Well there is no way to adjust the scope any more, once it's done it's done. I don't see why that would be happening, other than you might be using bad pellets, or you're too far from the target. And be absolutely sure which way you need to adjust it... But if that doesn't work, the first thing you need to do is get a very large target and from 20-30yards, shoot 3-5 shots in the same spot to make sure you know where it's missing. if you get a tight group, then adjust the scope accordingly. If your group is all over the place, then you need diffrent pellets. If all else fails, then get a diffrent scope. good luck!

yesthis is a once shot gun, as are most pellet guns, you can get some with rotary clips that are overly expensive, practice makes a fast loading action, ive never once had a complaint about a single shot
