Rated 4.6 out of 5 by 5 reviewers.
Rated 4 out of 5 by Nice Reel Ross quality at an affordable price. Easy spare spool changeout. Smooth retrieve and easy adjustable drag. Pairs well with a light rod. March 16, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Typical Ross Quality Needed a last minute replacement for my backup 6wt on a King/sockeye trip to the Ayakulik. Have used Ross reels for the past 15 years and never had a problem so I decided to give this "economy" reel a try. The 6wt was a little undersized for the reds but the drag never faltered and it worked flawlessly on those screaming sockeye runs. Great value for the money. June 20, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by great Value I purchased the reel for a back up to use on a fly fishing trip to Alaska for trophy rainbows. I ended up using the reel every day because of the smooth , silent drag. I caught rainbows up to 24 inches and sockeye up to 12 lbs and this large arbor reel perfomed better than my other reel which cost more than twice as much. Great drag, very smooth and easy to adjust while fighting fish. August 26, 2010
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Reel for the $$$ I have several other Ross reels and a friend suggested the Flyrise. It has the same drag system as the Evolution reels but at a fraction of the cost. Great reel for the money. June 29, 2010

Steve,

The reel is easy to convert L/R, R/L. Remove the four screws on the black escapement cover (on the inside of the spool), pull off the cover, lift out the escapement, flip it over and then replace the cover and screws. Wind your backing in the correct direction onto the spool and you're done! If you have the instruction booklet its covered there and you can also go to Ross's website for the instructions as well. Good luck!
