Simply put, this is the best reel I have ever used in the salt. These reels will stop a tank and with sizes to fit all your needs from 6 WT to 15 WT, you cannot go wrong. The Momentum LT is bomb proof both inside and out. Fishing for big fish can get hectic to say the least. You need to know that the drag system will not fail and the durability is there should the battle throw you around the boat or the rocks. Buy this reel with confidence!

I was slow to warm up to the Momentum line over my Big Game's. The LT is a brute of a reel, that not only dropped some weight, but looks better than it's big brother! The drag could stop a speeding truck, and is just as smooth as my loved Big Games. These are great new reels that are a home run for Ross! I have the #4, #5, #6, and have used them both in fresh and salt water. In salt, just rinse them in fresh water after you are done fishing

I am very impressed with my Ross Momentum LT Fly Reels. They are the answer to stopping powerful fish. I absolutely worked mine silly this winter. They have held up on hard pulling peacock bass, Nile Perch and tigerfish. However, the most recent workout impresses me most. I spent ten days walking the beaches in Baja catching roosterfish, jacks and other species that test a drag system to the max. My drags cleared line smoothly and worked fantastic in the last seconds of landing the fish, a time when many fish are lost because of a stuck or jerking drag. All this, despite being full of sand and salt which can’t be helped when longs hours are spent waist deep in surf. These reels are amazing!

This reel has one of the best drag systems I have ever used in over 25 years of fly fishing experience. Its unique design, carbon fibre drag system, and lightweight come together to make the ultimate reel to tackle any species from fresh to salt. Plus near zero maintenance and it's bombproof which makes this reel my go to reel for every day fishing tackling giant Tarpon. A must have for any fly fisherman that wants top tier equipment for a lesser price than Abels and Tibors and also doesn't have to deal with the maintenance of Abels and Tibors.
