I have used my LT 7 for big tarpon in the Florida Keys! It worked GREAT! It was super light compared to other fly reels and my arm was not fatigued at all by the end of the day like normal. The drag work great and I like the portal designs also. Sleek looking reel! Thanks Ross!

This is the 5th Ross reel I have owned and as with all their American made products, a beautiful machine that incorporates all their know how and experience. Combined with Ross' lifetime guarantee regarding cleaning and maintenance of the reel, I expect to be using this reel for the rest of my fishing life.

We wipped the Mo 4 and 5 on some hefty snook and 30-40 pound tarpon on a recent trip to the Sian Ka'an Bioshere Reserve and the reels never skipped a beat. Unreal numbers of fish. I own a full setup of Big Game reels and had a hard time justifing buying anything else. After the trip, I'm upgrading my 12 wt. and 14 wt. set-ups.
I think Ross has hit on another classic. I just love the machine sound of the the new reel. It takes me back to the mangroves as I spin the spool now. I own over 20 Ross Reels and I have never sent one back for any problem. (other than a friend running over 3 san miguels in his truck).

I use these reels extensively in the Everglades for snook and Reds and in the Florida Keys for bonefish and Permit.They have flawless drags and I especially like the exposed water shedding spool rim for additional control when on strong fish.They seem impervious to the saltwater environs.I think they are the best reel for the buck- Definitely will last a lifetime.Plus they look good.
