These forks work well. They extend and retract easily even after repeated use and cleaning. I have a couple that are a few years old and they work just as well as the new ones we bought last year.
We use them mainly for marshmallows but we have cooked a few dogs on them. We typically use all beef hotdogs and these forks hold up to these larger, heavier hotdogs just fine.
Another great item to use around the fire at night...especially if you have teenagers that get hungry again right after you've cleaned up all the dinner gear!
