I was very disappointed in the fact that these forks were not as heavy duty as I had hoped. No where in the description of the product did it say what the diameter of the metal was. Just the overall length and width of the forks. They were inexpensive and it shows.

Super Roasting Fork
best heavy-duty fork design is this rugged 34" Super-Duty Roasting Fork from Bass Pro Shops. It is made up of chromed steel construction with a comfortable hardwood handle and leather hanging strap. Excellent roasting fork for large camp fires, bonfires, or for an indoor "campfire" evening with the family in front of the fireplace. Roast up to six hot dogs or four brats at once, while keeping the user well at a safe and enjoyable distance from the flames.

We have a few of these and the kids, young and old, use these a lot. They are much sturdier than the cheap wire style ones. The longer length keeps your hands from getting burnt, for the longer roasting sessions. I bent the tips up just a little bit so the hot dogs don't slip off as easily.
