Rated 5 out of 5 Very good boots
I was a bit apprehensive about buying a 1,000- gram thinsulate boot since my previous Rocky boots were 1,200 grams, but I have worn them in very cold weather for this area ( 29-F degrees) and they were very warm and comfortable. They required no break-in time and I am very satisfied with the boots.

Fantastic and very comfortable. Total agreement with another review. the laces that come with the boots are junk. Buy another pair of laces with these boots. I laced them up 3 times and tore the stock laces to ribbons.

Rated 5 out of 5 by aamjones Great cold weather boots!
I caught these on sale a few months back. I really didn’t need them as eastern North Carolina usually doesn’t get all that cold during deer season (not cold enough for 1000 grams of Thinsulate). Also I had just bought a pair of Rocky Rattlers (much needed during bow and early gun season in eastern NC) a couple of months prior. But they were on sale and when I go up to the mountains to watch others ski my feet will be fine.
Well we had our first heavy frost this past Saturday so I decided to try them out. Boy was I surprised! For a shoe that I had only tried on once they were extremely comfortable all day! The temp really shot up (from 28 to 65) and even at 65 these boots were bearable (a little toasty with regular moisture wicking socks but not too uncomfortable). The boots were a little on the heavy side, but you get used to it quick.
On a side note I shot my biggest buck to date that day, so these my go down as my lucky boots.

I'm a real rocky fan. But to answer your question. No I don't think it as good.A:
No,rocky waterproof is a fabric treatment and not a lining as gore tex.Top 1000 Contributor
A:
Yes they are if not better. I have wore these boots for over 5 year no (different pairs of course) using them in a dairy barn twice a day and it gets VERY wet in there cause you hav to was every thing down after each cow and milkingA:
I don't think so, it's a waterproof coating that wears away after time. Gore-Tex is a waterproof membrane.1 of 1
