Rated 5 out of 5 by onehunter Great Sole I have had two pairs of this boot over the past ten years. I recently bought a third for a back up pair. The soles are softer and quieter than any other boot on the market. The rubber composition is such that it grips rocks better than any other shoe I have ever seen including my waders. You will read reviews about the soles that differ from mine, but I hunt Colorado and Idaho or Wyoming every year. The soles take a beating on the rocks. They don't last as long as my Kennetrecs but I wish Kennetrec would put this sole on their boot. It is way more comfortable and cushions the step. The hardness of the rubber is more compressible that other boots (which are too hard). In 2008 after 7 years of abuse one sole delaminated and the tread was severly worn. I consider that a value for the price of these boots. I don't mind replacing hunting boots every 7-8 years, especially if they're as comfortable as these. February 13, 2013

A:The temperature is like the high mountains of Colorado temp range in winter can run as low as -40 degrees up to 10 deg. above zero. Snow in the area can be up and down. I have seen snow up above three ft. and mostly down six to eight inches.
A:Not really a temp rating...I wear in the 30's and my feet are warm with wool socks.
A:Sorry I can not give you exact temp rating, But at -15 degres fer. I had no problem. the conditions I was in were winter storm snow and blowing. But my feet were warm. I have several screws in my ankle and my foot notices cold, And I had no problems with this boot. It is the best boot I have ever owned. hope this helps you.
Details:the boots i have now were advertised waterproof but are water proof only halfway up
A:When I put these boots on they have a complete sock like inner tounge that should keep snow out and water crossing creeks.. I won't be swimming in them though.
A:The boot is completely water proof, and they do good at keeping you warm.
Details:My old pair are gore-tex, i dont see a gore-tex tag on these.
A:I don't know the answer to that . I have worn thinsulate before on gloves I stayed dry and real warm.
A:They are waterproof but they aren't Gore Tex Brand waterproof.
A:No they are not, but in my opinion just as good! Cordura I believe is what they call it. Maybe mis-spelled :-)
