Rocky Prowler 800 8'' Insulated Waterproof Hunting Boots for Men
Definitely NOT Waterproof
I was very impressed with these when I first purchased. Very comfortable and seemingly well built boots. I stepped in a few mud holes to test the "waterproof"-ness of them and did not have any problems. Not sure what happened but I wore them today and had to get into some less than ankle deep water and I could tell water was getting in, not one, but both boots. My feet froze and when I got home and got them off my toes and the whole front half of my socks were drenched. The water did not come over the tongue, it leaked in somewhere. Very disappointed in these because I bought them for the "Rocky" quality I had heard about and because I need to keep my feet dry. I would not buy these again and probably won't buy any Rocky's again either.

All Day Wear!
I have had these boots for a couple of hunting seasons now. They are just as nice today as when I purchased them. My main hunting with them is dove and turkey. The dove doesn't require much walking but the turkey sure does. I mainly hunt turkeys in TX and the tough outside protects from the thorns and briars. The biggest thing I noticed was that after I had a three day hunt my feet were nowhere near as sore as previous years. I am telling you the comfort level is amazing. You will not be disappointed with this purchase!

Great Hunting Boots
I bought these boots mid December 09 and I have to say they are great. Mine are actually the 9inch but there isnt much difference. We have alot of property in Alabama with hills, creeks, and streams. I went through all of it with no problems out of my boots. These are the most comfortable boots I have owned and I actually wear them when I am not hunting to keep my feet warm and dry. I sat in the woods from 430am til 11am with temps from 18 degrees to 38 degrees and came out of the woods with warm dry feet. I love them and thinking about buying another pair to put up for when these are worn out. Great Rocky Boots.

I have had two pairs of this boot over the past ten years. I recently bought a third for a back up pair. The soles are softer and quieter than any other boot on the market. The rubber composition is such that it grips rocks better than any other shoe I have ever seen including my waders. You will read reviews about the soles that differ from mine, but I hunt Colorado and Idaho or Wyoming every year. The soles take a beating on the rocks. They don't last as long as my Kennetrecs but I wish Kennetrec would put this sole on their boot. It is way more comfortable and cushions the step. The hardness of the rubber is more compressible that other boots (which are too hard). In 2008 after 7 years of abuse one sole delaminated and the tread was severly worn. I consider that a value for the price of these boots. I don't mind replacing hunting boots every 7-8 years, especially if they're as comfortable as these.
