Improved tip-to-ferrule and blade-to-ferrule connections give the Rocket Aeroheads® Hammerhead® broadhead unmatched strength and overall toughness. The fine tip helps to deliver extreme penetration. A long ferrule helps these heads fly like a field tip and a 2" cutting diameter produces a devastating wound.

Best broadhead ever
I have used these broadheads for the last 4 years and have shot 21 deer with these broadheads and out of 21 I have lost 1 deer and that was my fault. I shot the deer to far back. But the rest of the deer hadn't ran over 75 yards and has bleed alot. I will never use another broadhead, until they stop selling them.

Used these last year, they weren't very expensive and had a huge cutting diameter,. My first shot with it i broke through shoulder and got both lungs with a 60 lb hoyt bow. It was a nontypical 6 point, one side of rack had 5 points other side had a 14 inch spike, went 50 yards and crashed into a wall of thicket and stopped dead there. My dad hit a deer with a rage broadhead, and his arrow went in 9 inches and it had bright red blood on it (good sign) deer had no blood trail ..... i gave him one of my broad heads and he got one a week later. i also got a liver shot with one of these and deer ran 40 yards and and bedded down where it died 30 minutes later.

I have been shooting this broadhead for 6 yrs on turkeys and whitetails and I won't be switching anytime soon. I have yet to have a turkey do anymore than flop. The furthest a whitetail has gone was about 60 yrds. The majority of them were lucky to make it 25. One doe made it 3 steps, reared up on her hind legs, fell onto her back and in three kicks of her legs, was expired. At 30 yrds or less I have yet to not get a complete pass through. Beyond 30 yrds I still get near complete pass through. The wound channel is amazing, blood trailing will never be an issue. As far as deflections go, I haven't had any, I hunt very high but I am also intelligent enough to not take steep angle shots. Wait for those 20+ yard shots or don't shoot. That is something a person must be mindful of when shooting any forward opening expandable.

No they do not use a rubber band. They are kept closed with the tension from a small spring clip that looks a little like a washer. The blades thread through it, and once screwed onto your arrow or bolt, the blades "self tension" to keep them closed. Due to the design of the blades, they open automatically just as they touch the hide of the deer. Great broad heads!
These do not use rubber bands. They use a small clip called a spider clip. Aptly named because they do resemble a spider in a way. However the clips hold the blades in place very well. I used to use a 2 blade rage for my spot and stalk hunts. They would almost always fall open on at the critical moment on the draw and spoil my shot on a buck. These spider clips hold really well for spot and stalk. The devastation on my black bear at 40 yards this year was unreal. I truly became a fan the instant I found the bear and saw the devastation.
Im thinking of using my bow for turkey hunting this spring but dont know what it the best broadhead to get, i was thinking the Rocket Aeroheads® Hammerhead® Mechanical Broadheads would be the best choice but i wanted to be sure before i spent any money.
