this is a great help for catfishing at night! Keeps rods upright and off the ground, and at a perfect height. The quality is great as well, not some cheap setup. I have a feeling i'll be getting another one of these soon.....

I actually bought this item as a gun rest to use while dove hunting. Its great for keeping your bird stringer off the ground and away from fireants and for holding misc stuff....I should patent it for this purpose........

It does work well in the sand. Just sink it to where the crossbar is still showing and lay a rock across it. That is how we do it on the sandy beaches of the snake river.A:Â
absolutely the spikes are long enough that it gets down into the sand deep and holds upright. i've used it in sand/silt canal banks with no problemsA:Â
This product does need to have a solid base, thus it does need to be stuck in to a solid ground. Dry sand, which can shift easily, will allow the rod holder to fall over after a good tug on the rod from a fish.1 of 1
