extremely nice rod holders for bank fishing I purchased 2 of these rod holders for catfishing. You can easly fit 3 rods in them, but I only use 2... they are great for catfishing the big cats! you can cast out your line, set the rods in the holders, and set your reels to free-spool, and sit back and relax!.... these rod holders will hold up to a large catfish taking a big run on you ( 57lb blue) could not budge the rod or reel out of the holder!... It does work well in the sand. Just sink it to where the crossbar is still showing and lay a rock across it. That is how we do it on the sandy beaches of the snake river.

This product does need to have a solid base, thus it does need to be stuck in to a solid ground. Dry sand, which can shift easily, will allow the rod holder to fall over after a good tug on the rod from a fish.
