Why not .20 gauge? A nice product but I couldn't find anything for a .20 gauge at the store so I figured I'd check online. No joy. I'd like this to be able to put a sling on my son's 870 Express for his first season in the field with me. I had to order the part directly from Remington. November 21, 2007
Not All Remingtons This Cap was purchased to replace the cap on a 12 ga Waterfowl Remington 870 Super mag to facilitate the use of a sling, it is too small to install onto the threads. I figure maybe it was a 20 ga cap mistakenly put into the 12 ga packaging, so I try to thread it onto a 20 ga wingmaster, still too small. make sure you bring your gun to purchase so you don't have to waste a trip to Bass Pro for a return. Other than that, it appears to be a well made product if you can get it to fit your gun. September 17, 2009
Simple and reliable Attaching sling swivels works for me on my rifle, and hence works on a working shotgun. When doing chores on the farm, having a sling allows me to free my hands for doing what needs be done. Installation on the magazine is obviously easy. Mounting the rear screw stud in the buttstock was really no big deal....just pre-drilled a 3/32" hole about two inches up from the recoil pad....and screwed in the stud. If I can do it....so can you! A useful product I've been meaning to buy one of these for years, but always put it off as a means of saving money. I finally bought one with my Bass Pro points. It's a great accessory! I never understood why more shotguns didn't already come from the factory "sling ready." It should be especially helpful on upland game hunts where you have to hike for some time before getting to the hunting spot. It's also very well made and fit perfectly to my 870 pump. March 24, 2010

Thank you for your inquiry. The Remington Universal magazine cap will not fit the H&R Auto. The thread pattern is different. --Per Remington: "We are not aware of a magazine cap with swivel stud that is available for the Excel Auto."

A:
Yes & No. The Magazine Cap fits perfectly, however the stock swivel stud is too large to fit in the existing brass fitting on the stock.
