I got this pad to upgrade my 11-87 stock, getting rid of the hard rubber pad. It is not a perfect fit but I don't care (its close enough). It's a hair high and a hair narrow. It is meant for 870/1100 stocks or any that can hold R3 pads. It might fit other 11-87s, mine probably just wasn't meant to have it. (11-87 Premier)
In terms of construction, it is made of polyurethane, a.k.a. rubber-like foam, like the padding inside your running shoes but softer and with more compression. For Remington it is not an upgrade from the R3 but not necessarily a downgrade either. The Supercell doesn't cling to your clothes, allowing for quick shots without snagging problems. For recoil reduction it's probably the second best product out there, right behind R3/Limbsaver. Recoil for me isn't a problem unless I shoot skeet. I personally like it, in the end it will do its job and I guarantee you that no one can dispute it, no matter what anyone will say. Plus the price is pretty good.

Rated 1 out of 5 by BobbyH61 Does not fit
I bought this for an older 1100 20g. It does not fit, despite the description saying it does. The holes line up for the screws but that's about it. It's a good 1/8 inch short on either side and at least 3/8 inch too dang short. So yeah, it 'fits', it just doesn't line up properly and does not cover the end of the stock. Don't buy this, get an aftermarket model from someone else.

I purchased the recoil pad for the wooden stocked gun. This recoil pad is for the Remington Model 870 and/or 1100 shotgun and is an 1/8 of an inch too short for my Remington Rifle.
