The Remington Model 700 CDL Rifle combines the famous action and consistency of a 700 with a classically styled design. The traditional straight comb American walnut stock includes a satin finish, finely cut checkering, right handed cheek piece, black fore-end tip and grip cap, and sling swivel studs. The jeweled bolt body and satin blued steel barrel and action round out the rifle’s tasteful design. The Model 700 CDL also features externally adjustable X-Mark Pro Trigger System, 4 + 1 hinged floor plate magazine, thumb safety, and a receiver drilled and tapped for scope mounts.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Great rifle Have the 30-06 in this model and i love it. Very smooth and always dead on accuracy, also its a remmington so you can't go wrong. June 1, 2011
Rated 5 out of 5 by Money well spent I have been hunting with this rifle for 15 yrs. New ones come & go, theres nothing like the classic model 700. February 9, 2011
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Rifle! A great american classic rifle. It's IMO the best looking and shooting rilfe there is. I love the X-Mark trigger, it's the cleanest breaking trigger I've ever used. The first time out it shot a 1" group with Hornady SST 165 gr. The other times with different rounds I got close to the same results. I have a Nikon Buckmasters 3-9x40 scope with Luepold DD rings and bases. October 25, 2010

A:
This rifle is engineered so closely to perfection that even the .30-06, which normally gives smaller shooters some trouble, feels extremely smooth and you hardly feel a thing. However, if you are truly worried, go to a .308, it is still an excellent round (my personal favorite) and provides less recoil than a .30-06. It is personal opinion really.

Remington's website does show the 700 CDL 30-06 as coming in a left-handed model. That is actually what I was coming on here to look for in store.

if it was brand new you might just need to break it in and it should get better, if not try taking out the bolt and lightly lubricating all moving parts with rem oil

just oil the heck out of it at home and keep pushing and pulling the bolt while firing the triger(Un-Loaded) after each push. you just have to work it in.
