Rated 5 out of 5 by squidmotion great pistol
about 200 rounds so far, not one hiccup.. Bass Pro did not have the stainless version, the R1S, so i bought one that my LGS had in stock.
i might still purchase a few WC magazines for it, just to be safe, but the stock mags look great, seem to work fine.
this is a great 1911. very accurate, reliable. nice trigger.
a very pretty pistol, as well.

I carried a 1911 as my primary weapon during my service with the Army. I bought this .45 and it feels the same. I opted for the stainless version and it is a handsome pistol. It is dead accurate at 50 yards or less and has yet to miss fire. High quality, tight action, easy to clean and keep clean. I absolutely love it. You will too.

I traded a Beretta 92FS in on mine. I have the stainless 5.5" barrel. I love it as it fits my hands and is more comfortable than the Beretta to hold and shoot. I also like the .45 stopping power better than 9 mm, one tap as compared to three with the 9 mm. The only thing I don't like is that it shoots way left out of the box. That is my fault as I haven't taken the time to center the front sight.

I have put over 500 rounds through this gun in a few days. It's very easy to clean and no problems with the extended clips. I was hitting targets 25-40 yards easy every time. This is a great home defense weapon with enough stopping power to keep anyone safe. The kickback does take some practice to adjust to so make sure you practice.

Some handguns come with an either/or safety. The ones that don't must either be sent to a gunsmith, do a DIY job transferring the safety latch from one side to the other, or learn to live with it.I'm sorry there isn't an easier/better answer.
