I have been thinking about picking up a 45 for the past several years. I have not even used one in over 45 years when it was issued to by the military. Did my home work and read multiple reviews on several manufactures and then made the store trips to look and feel the guns. After selected the Remington Carry R1. Best choice I could have made for he money the gun functions fine, good quality, and shoots better than I did with the military issue 45. Shoot a friends high priced 45 and this gun shoots every bit as well as the high priced guns.
Took it to the range and put about 100 rounds through it to see how well it shoots and it blew the center out of a six inch circle target at 21 yards without any problem. This is well within a competitive guns specs that cost in excess of $2000. I was impressed with the gun the recoil was less than I expected but should have know that the steel built frame was better than the poly framed guns. Very Impressed at how it handled and functioned
After years as a LEO I and carrying a solid steel frame pistol I will no longer buy a poly frame gun again. Just wish Remington would have a 9MM in the same style. It would be a winner. I would be first in line to buy it.
Over all well impressed and as a Firearms Instructor will put on top of my recommendation list of a fair priced pistol of very good quality. Well worth the investment and I am glad I went back to the Remington 45 vs a poly framed 40 S&W by Glock.
