1600 Rd Bucket of Junk. I had been a Golden Bullet fan since the late 1970's. It had been my go to ammo since then and I had a good supply of it stashed away from 10 years ago when this ammo shortage hit. Imagine how happy I was to find a 1600 rd bucket of it this fall. That was only the second time I've found GB in the last 2+ years. It was marked "new and improved" but when I went out to try it today it was as bad the poorly touted Winchester White Box. The bullets were too loose to reliably feed in even my Ruger Mark 1 that gobbles up everything including the "old" GB I have. The only other thing my Mark 1 will not shoot is Winchester Bulk. I selected 10 random rds and showed them to a range buddy and all bullets could be spun and wiggled with one bullet so loose it could be flopped back and forth in the case by moving my hand. Sorry Remington but you have lost a fan of your "famed" Golden Bullet round. This bucket was junk and if it was a fluke what does that say about your quality control? December 27, 2014
Golden Bullet 525 pack First off, the price you pay for 525 bullets is good. For me that is where the good news stops! I've only shot about 300 threw my brand new colt m16spr 22lr, by walther and let me tell you that one in every ten rounds in the magizine had a failure to load or fire. In some mags it was even 2-3bullet's would not load right. See it's not my gun because federals work in it, and windchesters work in it as well, i just don't know what it is. I feel you are better off getting federal 550 or windchester 555 packs. Keep in mind this is my personal experience, so it may vary with guns and owners. But i still love the BPS! November 4, 2011
Really Good Ammo A few months ago i bought a box of this ammo to shoot from a model 74 winchester from the 1950's. I have had a lot of problems getting the gun to feed ammunition, and all the expensive stuff from Winchester didn't work well at all. I took it to the range, and shot through 200 rounds without one single jam. Great accuracy, too. My record for the longest shot on a 4x4" target with this load is 265 yards with the original scope, a 3x power. With a good scope, i could see it going much farther accurately. The stength of the load seems good, I've taken lots of groundhogs with it this year to 130 yards, and they always drop. Couldn't be more impressed. Great ammo Remington, keep it up. August 5, 2012
Excellent first ammo purchased Bought a 10/22 ruger and smith & wesson 22. Came along a 2 box of Remington 525 rounds for 24.95 each. Shot about 500 rounds today. Not even one jam or any malfunction. This is my first day in the range and touched first time a gun in my life. Was so pleased with the result. Did not know how to handle if there was any jams. Quite pleased with the result. No Remington does not make this item in a heavier shell. However they work just fine in the 10/22 my cousin owns he's never had a problem with any 22 ammo going through it like water down a drain.
