Remington Eley Target .22 LR Rimfire Ammo
So far the best (by a little...)
I have a scoped Savage Mark II FV and have tried a variety of different LR ammo. While I have shot less than half of a 50 round box, I have achieved some of my best 50-yard / 5-shot groups to date (dime-sized).
I have not shot past 50 yards with this yet.
Oh, and it does smell rather unpleasant!
A close runner-up to this Eley are Winchester subsonics. I have shot a lot more of these Winchesters (1/2 the cost of Eley) and can say they do come close to the consistency of Eley.

A Little Pricey For It's Perfomance
I have lost a match to a competitor using this ammo so I had to try it for myself. It groups excellent, is clean burning and consistent but I could not group any better with some of the less expensive ammo that I have used and for me I couldn't justify the extra expense when I was getting the same results with the ammo I use for competetion. Maybe this ammo gave my competitor the edge that day or he was just better but whatever the case, this is an excellent performer.

best 22lr ammo availible
After trying about 10 or more different types of 22lr ammo I have finally found the best. I run a wildlife pest control business & accuracy is a must! I practice everyday and shoot groups no bigger than a nickle at 50 yards with 10 shots. There are no misfires and every shot is very consistent. It is a bit expensive but you get what you pay for.

This is very accurate and reliable .22 ammo - I use it my kimber 22 and get groups of 1/2" at 50 yards. Also find it's reliable in my Ruger Mark II which has a tendency to jam with bad ammunition.
