This pump action features a 3-1/2" chamber, 3 + 1 capacity, and proven, smooth operating 870 action. The 28'' vent rib barrel features a modified Rem choke and bead sight. Wood stock and forearm. This gun is awesome for a beginner all the way to advanced shooter. It shoots well, is reliable, and easy to clean. As long as you keep it clean, it will last forever

Great solid gun, feels well built, easy to clean and take apart. no need to spend a lot of money for a good shotgun. This gun does it all, skeet, bird hunt, home defense.

Everyone has told me that the 870 is one of the best guns to get i have never bought one for myself but i have shot them and they are a very dependable gun. I plan on buying one for myself soon and hunting waterfowl and getting a slug barrel. the only bad part is the slug barrels are almost as much as the gun itself.

I got this gun because it shot 2 3/4, 3, and 3 1/2 inch shells and was affordable. This gun is great for the price. It has a good tight pattern and has a good range. I am very happy with it and thank the sales staff at Bass Pro in Denham Springs, LA

If it is your first waterfowl gun, go with this (the Remington). I cannot say enough about the 870. I like the Mossberg as well, but you cannot go wrong with a Remington and it will be a great starting point to learn about shotguns.

I did a lot of reading before I decided. I think you will be extremely happy with the RemingtonA:Â
Is a Chevy or Ford better? Same question. Some people swear by Remington, I happen to be a Mossberg fan. Each is going to last basically forever.My favorite thing about Mossy's are the controls with the slide release behind the trigger guard instead of reaching in front and the safety being ambidextrous on top instead of a cross bar safety on the Remington.
You just have to handle them both and see which one talks to you.

To change the choke on this gun for slugs do you have to change the entire barrel or just the end fitting?

you can change the choke out but a slug barrel gives you more accuracy and effective range.A:Â

Yes. That's the standard length 12 gauge shell. This model chambers both 2 3/4 or 3" shells. Bass Pro also carries a great variety of hunting and home defense loads in both lengths.Q:Â
