The Remington® Model 870™ Pump-Action Shotgun is one of the most proven firearm's designs in history. The 870 Express® is a rugged, value-priced workhorse, making it one of the most useful tools that an outdoorsman can own. The Super Mag has a 3-1/2" chamber to handle heavy turkey and waterfowl loads that reach out to knock birds down at maximum shotgun range; it also functions with 2-3/4" and 3" shotgun shells, making it an extremely versatile firearm. At the heart of the ultra reliable 870 Remington is a receiver milled from a solid billet of steel for maximum strength, and twin action bars that prevent binding and twisting while cycling the action. 870 pump shotguns have great pointing characteristics—they come to the shooter's shoulder and acquire targets instinctively, and swing fluidly on fast flying birds. The Remington Model 870 Express Pump-Action Shotgun comes with a non-reflective finished hardwood stock and fore-end, and a matte black, bead-blasted finish on the receiver and barrel. The barrel has a vent rib and a bead sight, and uses standard Rem™ Choke screw-in choke tubes (comes with 1 modified tube). A premium vented recoil pad dampens recoil and helps shooter to stay on target for faster follow up shots. A myriad of aftermarket Remington 870 accessories enables owners to customize the 870 Express for specific purposes.

Amazing Gun I got this gun before last waterfowl hunting season and I love it! I love that it comes with 3 and a half inch chamber, those shells knock ducks and geese outta the sky like nothing, Comes with the flat finish so its not shiny so ducks and geese cant spot it. Overall great gun couldn't ask for a better one. Can't wait till this season to slaughter again!! June 1, 2011
Amazing Shotgun I just bought this shotgun today and it is unbelieveable for the price. The gun is just as solid as ever and I shot 100 rounds through it without a single problem. In my opinion this is the best shotgun for the price. I highly reccomend it. May 20, 2011
Most reliable shotgun ever I've had an 870 in hand from age 7 until now (25). I've shot everything from 1187s to Browning 425s and 525s, and I always choose my 870 for hunting and clays. I've used it for rabbit, dove, waterfowl, turkey. deer, pheasant and quail hunting, as well as trap, skeet and even sporting clays shooting and I can't see myself going to another shotgun. I know its reputation speaks for itself, I just thought I'd add yet another ringing endorsement to the 870's resume. You simply cannot find a more reliable shotgun that can be put to so many uses with this low of a pricetag. April 25, 2011

Is a Chevy or Ford better? Same question. Some people swear by Remington, I happen to be a Mossberg fan. Each is going to last basically forever.

My favorite thing about Mossy's are the controls with the slide release behind the trigger guard instead of reaching in front and the safety being ambidextrous on top instead of a cross bar safety on the Remington.

You just have to handle them both and see which one talks to you.

A:
Yes. That's the standard length 12 gauge shell. This model chambers both 2 3/4 or 3" shells. Bass Pro also carries a great variety of hunting and home defense loads in both lengths.
