The Remington® 870 Pump-Action Shotgun is one of the most proven firearm's designs in history. The 870 Express® Super Mag Camo is made specifically for goose and duck hunting. The Super Mag has a 3-1/2" chamber to handle heavy waterfowl loads that reach out to knock birds down at maximum shotgun range. The entire gun is finished in Realtree Max-4® camo to reduce corrosion inherent to waterfowl hunting conditions, and to blend in with cattails, millet, cornstalks, oak, and other plant life, offering maximum effectiveness for staying concealed in waterfowl habitat. At the heart of the ultra reliable 870 Remington is a receiver milled from a solid billet of steel for maximum strength, and twin action bars that prevent binding and twisting while cycling the action. 870 pump shotguns have great pointing characteristics. They come to the shooter's shoulder and acquire targets instinctively, and swing fluidly on fast flying birds. The barrel has a vent rib and a bead sight, and uses standard Rem™ Choke screw-in choke tubes (comes with 1 modified tube). A Premium vented recoil pad dampens recoil considerably and helps shooter to stay on target for fast follow up shots. The Remington 870 Express Super Mag Pump-Action Shotgun also functions with 2-3/4" and 3" shotgun shells, making it an extremely versatile firearm.

Not the best gun out there. oh well Here's the good and the bad. The Good: -price -ease of breakdown and cleaning -good choice for a lefty The Bad: -jams often while i'm duck hunting (first 2-300 rounds were flawless, then it just went south) -The loader isn't dependable and half loads the next shell a lot -The finish of the camo is coming off in less than 20 days of hunting -the bead broke 2 weeks into owning it. i switched it out with a copper bead. -it's a very "long" 28" gun. I'm going to be sending it back to them after duck season is over. I am left handed so a little limited on semi-auto's. Already picking out my next gun because I know this won't keep me happy for very long. December 27, 2013
great shotgun bought this shotgun 3 years ago for dove, duck, geese, hunting and shooting trap...the first hunt with it was dove and I use very cheap ammo. the gun jammed a couple times. after that started shooting better ammo and never had another problem with jams,,,, I've had over 2500 rounds thru this gun and the more I shot it the better it gets... one of the most dependable shotguns I have I'm getting ready to go and buy another one for my grandson it hits what you aim at.. I use any where from extra full choke to skeet choke.... have shot 2 3/4 lead and 2 3/4", 3' , 3 1/2" steel with no problems January 31, 2014
remington 870 super mag I have own my Remington 870 super mag for a long time. It has performed with no problems. I have put a lot of shells through it and never had a jam. This shotgun is very universal. I have used to hunt dove, quil, turkey, rabbit and deer. It is one of the easiest shotguns to take a part and clean. I just happen to catch the shotgun on sale at the time of purchase, but the regular price of 330.00 was still pretty reasonable for this gun. Even though the price has gone up a little since I bought it I'm thinking about getting another one to have it set up for turkey hunting only. If you want a reliable shotgun, I highly recommend buying this one. It's worth the money in my book. February 27, 2015
Won't buy again Had this gun for 15 years. Had it stored for 8 years. Half way through this season it stopped cycling correctly. It failed me no matter how well it was broken down and cleaned. Shells would not eject after being fired also. The bolt would literally pull back the brass off the shell where it hooked onto it with leaving me to watch the birds fly away. Happened numerous times until I put it up for good. I'll never waste my money on this gun again. Kicks so hard with 3 1/2 shells that the pad when flat. I can't even sell it with a clean conscience. A gun you can't trust 100% of the time is worthless. January 11, 2015

Knoefel,

In order to use slugs you need to buy the rifled barrel for it. I have found that fusion slugs work well with mine. Yes, it can handle turkey loads. I have shot # 4's out of mine and have not had an issue. In fact I have used mine for a variety of animals. Just to name a few. Dove, quil, deer, turkey

This is the hardest kicking shotgun I've ever shot. It's nothing but a cheap backup for me now.

yes it can handle turkey loads and the deer slugs if you take the choke out, but you will not rifle sights it will just be the bead at the end of the barrel

The one I purchased came with just one modified choke tube. You will need to buy others for whatever you are looking to do with it.

I got one with it - screwed in, a modified I believe. You can get chokes for relatively cheap, though; good to have a couple on hand.
