I recently bought this 12 gauge Remington 870 combo and was very surprised. Straight out of the box, it hit almost every single clay target. It functioned perfectly with no problem. I changed from the vent ribbed barrel to the fully rifled barrel. At 50 yds I was shooting 2" groups with the factory iron sights.
P.S. the Remington coppersolid sabot shotgun slugs work the best in this guns rifled barrel

Purchased this gun as my first ever shotgun. used it for deer and bear this year along with, birds and rabbit. I have shot slugs through the slug barrel and it works flawlessly shot 3 inch and 2 3/4 inch 1oz and 7/8 oz slugs. The slug barrel on the gun is heavy though but being fully rifled makes that barrel an ace. My biggest issue is that i wish i had got the slug barrel with the cantilever scope mount but honestly a slug is not made for 300 yard shots with the rifled barrel i would give 100 yards- 150 yards at the very uttermost. For the field barrel i've shot #8 bird, for birds and clays works amazingly even with the short brass. used 00 buck and #4 buck works like a charm fun too shot. some people complain about ejection issues even with the short brass I have never experienced any issues. One thing i urge you to purchase the synthetic stock combo (if they sell them) the stock i got with mine was undesirable to me hunted in the rain and the stock started getting bubbles in it, fixed that by replacing the hardwood stock with a black synthetic stock like that synthetic even more than i did the wood. I still gave this combo a 5 star rating because honestly this gun is awesome shoots soaked, shoots cold its unstopable and works like a charm i love mine im sure you will love yours.

Bought this gun around 8 years ago and use it every year for deer hunting in IL. I have started to use it for duck and goose hunting. Great gun and very universal.

I bought my 870 six years ago. I use it for bird hunting, trap and sporting clays. I have at least 5000 rounds fired and the only problem I have had was with a few of my reloads. You can do any type of shooting you want. I prefer it over my o/u shotguns. I would not think twice about buying another one. The slug barrel is accurate to as far as I can see with iron sights. Highly recommended.
