RedHead® Wool Felt Camo Trim Hat with Earflaps for Men
I love this hat! For years I have worn a Bass Pro baseball cap. Served me well but I wanted something with more style and protection. I lost my Bass Pro hat three times due to high wind gusts. Once on lake Ozark and twice on open plains while traveling. In rain it left me exposed to get soaked and cold.
I have since been using the RedHead® Wool Felt Camo Trim Hat with Earflaps. First off I LOVE the look of the hat. Its performance...as far as being waterproof, not waterproof per say. The hat absorbs water but it runs off alll the rim of the hat. My head stays dry and that's all I need..
95% of the time I wear the hat with the chinstrap behind my head. The couple of times I've had to use
the chinstrap it kept me from losing my hat in strong
This hat is excellent. It looks great, serves its function
fantastically. You find a better good looking hat at this price you let me know.

I've been wearing this hat for about a week, and it gets more comfortable every day. It's still pretty warm at the lake near my house, and I thought a wool hat might be pretty hot in the sun, but it's no warmer than a cotton baseball cap (which is what I had previously worn while fishing). Although I generally don't like chin cords, I chose this one because it gets windy here as well. I've had to use the chin cord on occasion, but when I don't need it it's easily tucked up inside the hat or drawn up the sides, around the back, and down through the hat band. The fit was a bit snug at first, but like a new pair of shoes, it just needed to stretch a little bit. Now it's so comfortable that I often forget I'm wearing it. It hasn't rained here yet, so I can't speak for how water resistant it is. The only very minor drawback is that with the ear flaps down, the part of the flaps that cover the back of the neck are a little long, so it pushes the brim a little too low over my eyes--but I might just have a short neck (my hat size is small, so this might not happen to those who wear a larger size). All in all, I couldn't be happier with it, and if or when it finally wears out, I might have to give it a proper burial.
