These liners keep my feet warm in the winter when i am umpiring baseball. I was so pleased that i went and bought my dad a pair.

These are great for wearing under my leather boots. The liners are lightweight but they really work keeping my feet warm. I also wear them under my crew socks for added warmth with my running shoes.

i work on the north slope of alaska building ice roads in the winter and run a charter boat in the summer also in alaska, the socks keep my feet warm on the ice or the ocean! i wear cotton socks over and they are just right!

This depends on size you buy as well as how long/short your legs are obviously but I can tell you this:I am in between two sizes, med and large. The mediums which are more snug when I first put them on but after a few hours feel perfect, come to a little over mid-calf. About like your basic sports crew sock.
The larges though which feel better when and more roomy when I first put them on but stretch after an hour or so to be a bit too big come a little higher (only half an inch or slightly more) but still couldn't be considered "over-the-calf" socks.
