RedHead® Standard Rifle Cleaning Kits
I received the Redhead Standard Rifle Cleaning Kit in .243 caliber. The very first time I ran the cleaning brush thru the bore and went to pull it back thru the handle broke off. The plastic handle is held on to the rod by a flimsy clip inside the handle. Needless to say you can't get the clip inside the handle back on. I didn't bother letting Bass Pro Shops know because it would just be a hassle trying to exchange and the poor design would probably have the same thing happen on the replacement kit. I can use the brushes, patches, etc. with an old Outers cleaning kit rod so like I said, it isn't worth the hassle over a 10 dollar cheap cleaning kit.

The rod snapped the first use. Even being careful with the tiny .17 with a push of the first patch it snapped in half with little pressure. The patches are also too thin, causing the jig to go all the way through and not pushing the patch through the barrel.

Do NOT Purchase
I've cleaned many guns (long guns and handguns) and this .22 rifle cleaning rod is absolutely worthless. On the first attempt to put the brass brush through the barrel, the rod broke at the screw in joint nearest the handle. So I got a cloth and placed it over the broken end to push it the rest of the way through, and it snap instantly at the next joint. Do not buy this product, it is garbage.

.17 Caliber Cleaning Kit
Not a bad kit but be very careful... it's very fragile being so thin in diameter. The brass rod broke above the threaded portion rendering it useless. It's such a small caliber though it's not to be unexpected, just take your time and be conscious of the amount of torque and pressure you're applying while running a swap down the barrel.
