THis was a great jacket for the western NY fall hunting. Windproof and dry, add a nice light base layer for the cooler days and you are ready to stay dry and warm.

Rated 4 out of 5Â by triplejoe I would
have given 5 stars except for a couple of things. I ordered a 3XLT, the fit was fine but I thought the length was a little short for a tall. The zipper was not a two way, this seems to be over looked by a lot of suppliers, not an expensive item. My cleaners re-placed the zipper for $20.00 bucks. Quality and construction good. The price (including my $20.00 for zipper) was very good.

For the price you won't beat this product. Kept me dry in a toad strangler up in my tree stand. The AP disappears in the coastal pine forests. Deer died looking right at me and couldn't figure out what I was.
The XLT size is perfect for my 6"5" frame. Arms are long enough. Silent while drawing the bow. The GREATEST part is the extra little fleece lined hand warmer pockets. Keep your hands out of sight and wind and rain while waiting for that buck to sneak along. No need for gloves. We'll see how long it holds up as I am outdoors 320+ days a year.

a little big,but nice so you can put extra layers on when it gets cold.Just perfect!! an most important (waterproof)A:Â
They def run big. I have an extra-large set, and they are massive. But, some extra room is OK, since I use the set as the main outer layer, and then layer with thermals, hoodie, or even a full size down parka.A:Â
This jacket is uninsulated and perfect for my 6"5" XLT frame. Arms are sufficient, no bind when I draw my bow, nice and quiet as well.Answers

Never it will block the rain for years. I have owned mine for 3 years and still blocks the rain and wind. I love mine so much that I bought the same suit for my children to go hunting with me.Q:Â

are these jackets and bibs really 100% waterpoof like being out in heavy down pore or good for only light rain
Answers
A:Â
I was caught out in a very heavy rain due to the fact that I did not check the weather before going out and I never got wet at all and my best friend had his rain suit on and I supposedly was made from the same material but his soaked through badly. Quality and the right stitching counts.A:Â
The jacket has yet to leak one drop, 7 days in the Oregon rain forest so far. 3rd day we had a toad strangler & I had to sit in my stand in a puddle of water and the left cheek of the bibs did wet through after a couple hours. This still kept me dryer than any previous rain suit I have owned.Answers

Yes I can roll them up tight and place them in the middle compartment of my 3 zipper back pack.A:Â
Yes, this is very packableA:Â
I do not believe this jacket is truly packable. It is of quality construction and is a little thick. It would fit in a backpack along with some other gear, but not in a pocket.A:Â
No this jacket is not considered packable.Answers

Yes the pockets have two small velcro closers, BUT there are two small fleece lined open holed pockets to hide your hands in. Great design.A:Â

What was redesigned about the new Squaltex? Did they use Velcro on the pockets again? (that was my only issue before)Answers
A:Â
Don't know, this is my first bone dry purchase. The pockets do use velcro.Top 250 Contributor
A:Â
Yes, there is velcro on the pockets. As far as redesign I don't know.A:Â
First time I looked at them so I cannot say what was redesigned. They did use Velcro on the pocket flap. I really do not think that in it self would prevent me from this purchase. I mean I want to stay out longer to hunt in the rain and I do not have to use the pockets if I want to be silent.1 of 1
