I've had it for slightly over a year, enough time for the warranty to run out. It performed well until this past week, when the heat quit working. I typically dehydrate peppers, and we've had a great harvest year so far.
I guess you cannot run it several days with only a few hours break between runs. I would have expected the heating element to be sturdier, but I'm mistaken. A replacement base is about $50, or you purchase a complete new dehydrator for $70. I'm getting $45 worth of extra trays I don't need, so I would have thought $25 - $30 would be a fair price. Heck, even $35 for a base alone is better than $70. I would recommend it for light duty use only.

First time worked great, no complaints.
Next time I plugged it in....it would never come on.
Unfortunately it was a year later and could not return it.

Item looks good, has solid trays but didn't dry even. I expect to have to shuffle trays but each tray had different spots that didn't dry. Tried to dry sliced meat and ground meat jerky and had to monitor it the whole time.
