The RedHead® Silent Dog Whistle is audible to your dog while nearly silent to human ears. A great training whistle when surrounded by distracting noises, this silent whistle is a great tool for dog training in a crowded area. This adjustable tone whistle features a light single body nickel-plated brass construction. High frequency call carries well for long distance range.

Just like the review above - I got a whole 2 uses out of the whistle before it came apart on the lanyard and half fell off never to be found again. No clue why they would make a whistle that comes apart so easily, but I will never buy redhead product again. Pure junk...

The other reviews claim the whistle is not silent; however, it is. The tone is adjustable, as stated in the description. When you completely unscrew the whistle the tone becomes silent to the human ear. My dog responds to the whistle equally well when in any tone (including silent). My only complaint is the size, my lips sometimes cover up the top hole. It isn't an amazing piece, but it works and is a good deal for the price.

I should have trusted the review I read. This is a piece of junk. I'll be more careful next time ... if there is a next time!

I wore this once on my lanyard and it fell apart on me. Looked down to grab the whistle and only found the keyring. The rest of it came unthreaded and fell of somewhere never to be seen again.
I don't know how this can be called a silent dog whistle b/c it's anything but silent. Even my father-in-law with 100% hearing loss in one ear could hear it...without his hearing aid.
