Rated 5 out of 5 by Maxtrainer Turkey cap I really like the way it fits and I'm able to see through the mesh. I've tried other masks but I wear glasses and turkeys can see glint from glasses. Hope they won't see glasses through this mesh. Will know in 2 weeks when season starts! Real happy with it so far. March 26, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by Got2Bowhunt Good for turkey hunting I bought this hat for spring turkey hunting in Pa. and It worked great and I shot a 19 lb. gobbler with a 9 1/2" beard and it didn't see me. I do think the netting is slightly thicker than I would prefer, making it slightly difficult to see through compared to some other similar net hats I have used in the past, but this hat did the job that I needed it to. Rated 5 out of 5 by Gimshewicz Great hat This hat completely hides your face and with mesh that is easy to see through. The short bill does not interfere with a rifle scope or a shotgun when aiming or going prone. It blends very well with the mossy oak infinity pattern and I highly recommend it. You can even put a hood over it to either block wind or blend in better with your existing camouflage jacket. Turkeys will never see you! April 22, 2011
Rated 4 out of 5 by MuggyFlorida Good hat within limits The short billed cap does provide better bowstring clearance. The face mesh is darker than the photo, which is good for concealement. I can still focus on my sight pins through the mesh with no change in my accuracy. The only issue I have is the open back, which allows insects in through the mesh. It should be full coverage and maybe two inches longer to tuck into my shirt or jacket and to keep out insects. Otherwise a good product. September 2, 2010

Details:Is this good for bug protection? Looks open in the back
A:It is technically not a bug protection cap but it does have the mesh netting for the face. There isn't any mesh netting on the back of theneck.
A:I sprayed the hat with Max Deet spray and didn't have any bugs after me.
A:I think it would keep bugs out. The mesh attaches in the back via velcro for a snug fit. You could always put another hood over the back of your head if they were still getting through. The front definitely will keep bugs out.
A:if your looking for bug protection buy a bug net .....
