I ordered these boots on line after visiting a Bass Pro Shops while on a Business trip this past spring. I had a gift card and Bass Pro Shops is not located in my home city. I tried on 7-8 different brands of Hiking Boots and these, although they didn't have my exact size in that store, were the most comfortable fit for my wide foot.
Once I received the boots, I immediately installed a pair of Dr Scholls gel insoles. My first hike in these boots as well as the last 15 or so hikes have been fantastic. No blisters, my feet stayed comfortable, and even though I have not submerged them, the feet stayed dry from wet grass and puddles. They have also worn very well to date.
Other than fit, the most important thing I like about this boot is the ankle support. I had a problem with my older hiking shoes of periodically turning an ankle over partially buried rocks and exposed tree roots. That hasn't occurred a single time with these boots. The ankle support is as good now as the first time I wore the boots.
These go on sale periodically and for the price I payed with the promotion discount, the value is absolutely fantastic. I am considering watching for another sale and ordering a second pair.

Best hiking boots I've had in a long time and everything they advertised. I've had them on several times including today and they are comfortable and supportive in a hike. No break-in time for me either. They look good too.

This is the second pair of Red Head Roark hiking boots I've bought from Bass Pro in the past 4 years. They are very comfortable and light weight. I've read other reviews that they are not completely waterproof or that they did not hold up. My experience with my first pair was all positive. When they are on sale, there is no better deal!
