RedHead® RCT™ 7'' Non-Insulated GORE-TEX® Waterproof Duty Boots for Men
Waterproof yes, but flawed
I purchased these boots for patrol, 12 hour days. I broke them in during the first legit snow and cold spell we had. The boots are waterproof, and at this price point, that aspect is a value. The boots are also comfortable and look sharp. The problem I encountered was with the PLASTIC lace clips at the top of the boot. They are plastic, one of them broke during the first 4 hours of my tour. Its not a huge problem, as I can just skip that row and still effectively lace the boot. However, if the clips continue to break off, I will have to pay to get the issue remedied. I am also not in a position to return them, as a waterproof boot is essential this time of year. The lace clips should be metal.
Overall, I would recommend the boot, b/c they are a good value, but I would warm about plastic, and hope that Bass Pro would fix this flaw in the future.

Not bad - So far
I have the newer version of this boot. The version pictured with the gray designs on the side of the sole is the old one. Mine are all black. They redesigned this boot, because the old one snugged your feet way too much and that's why I originally didn't buy this boot. The new version has much more room to breath, however, with that being said, I had to buy the wide version of this boot because it does run a little narrow. So far I like them very much. They are comfortable but they do have a little break in period. The Gortex is a plus at this price. I hope they last longer then the Iron Horse duty boots. I went through the soles in about 7 months, and I don't have my receipt anymore so I probably can't exhange them for new ones. I've only had these a couple weeks, but so far I have been very satisfied. Just a side note, I am a PO assigned as a school liaison officer, so I probably put more walking miles on my boots then the average road patrol officer. I'm hoping to get a year or two out of these boots. We shall see.
