We have two - one for indoor use and one for the car/outdoor use. I machine wash these frequently and they are made to last. The top is not as white as when we first bought them (dark, short-haired dog) but otherwise they are in good shape.

I've got a few blankets just for dogs, this one was by far the most expensive. It works just like all the others, I put it down and the dog lays on it.
If it lasts a long time and handles multiple washings than the cost will be justified, but we'll see.
