RedHead® Mountain Stalker Elite Hooded Jacket
Very happy with purchase
I purchased this jacket and the bibs, and overall I am very happy with the purchase so far. I purchased it for the colder weather, December hunts that we see in Nebraska, however I wore it for three days last weekend (early Nov) and was very comfortable in it even though the temps were ranging from 30-68 degrees, simply by removing an under layer over our lunch break. I was very unsure about the thumbhole cuffs, but I have to say that I am a huge fan of them! I put my thin Under Armour gloves, then my wrist release and then slide into the jacket and pull the release out of the cuff and I end up with a setup that doesn't interfere with anything when I am bowhunting. My favorite feature is the pockets on the jacket. There is a standard pocket you can slide your hand into, as well as the standard buttoned pocket for items on each side as well, but then there is a large pocket that is essentially open on top for easy access to everything and anything you might need. I loved the easy and noise free access to all of the items I take on a hunt. The hood fits about as well as any hood that I have tried in the past, none of them are that great in my opinion. The only drawback that I have seen is the fabric likes to grab onto tree bark, making a very light velcro sound when pulled away. I had to make sure that I wasn't leaning up against the tree when deer were in view. I didn't spook any with the noise, but I assume you could very easily. Overall very happy, well fitting, warm and plenty of good storage for the money. PS- the new AP camo is AWESOME. Hope this helps.

Great Jacket-Terrible Cuffs
I bought this jacket to have one a little lighter than my heavy duty cold weather parka. The jacket is GREAT, hunted in it 7 days so far, sat in hard rain, walked through briars and rough brush, cuts wind great and is totally waterproof. I would give it a 12 EXCEPT FOR THE CUFFS!! They are terrible. Super hard to shove your hands through them, and they bunch up your long shirt sleeves underneath. They are made of a neoprene-type material and your wrists sweat like crazy underneath them. Absolutely horrible design. Why they couldn't just make them like any other jacket sleeve, elastic with the velcro strap is beyond me. Like I said, if it wasn't for the poor sleeve design, this jacket would be a 12!!

I recently purchased this jacket for MD deer season. This jacket has performed outstanding. The first few mornings I wore this jacket the temps were in the high 20's and I was able to sit much longer than I had before. I only wore a thermal and a very light fleece and the only reason I had to move was because my feet were getting cold. The jacket is quiet, yet does catch a bit on trees...nothing to get overly excited about. We will have to see how it fairs in bad weather. I do wish that the jacket was a bit longer and the sides could be tightened more than given. I guess the matching bibs would make this a moot point...those will be my next buy.

Couldn't Be More Happier
I just purchased this jacket today and couldn't be happier. It's extremely warm, loaded with pockets, and most of all it's wind and water-proof. I'm absolutely in love with the inside floating sleeve/knit wristlet with thumbhole. Besides being wind and water-proof this is the next best feature about this jacket. I don't think I could have got anything better for the money. Something I've never really cared for about this jacket or any other jacket is hoods. However, RedHead did this jacket justice and allows you to remove the hood via a zipper. The zippers on this jacket seem to be very strong and durable. I love the addition of the hook and loop on the zippers. This makes it easy to get your coat zipped and pockets unzipped quicker. If you're looking for a great outer-layer and need something not to hard on the wallet then BUY this. I don't feel you'll be disappointed. One thing I will point out is I thought this coat ran a little small. Order a size-up if planning to layer. That's my two cents. Hope this helps.
