This sling is based on the kind most of our fathers used however, it is much better quality leather. The leather is soft and supple enough to wrap around your forearm for a quick aid in off-hand shooting stability. Perhaps not as tough as some slings, but comfortable and classy.

This is an excellent M1907 GI sling. The leather is very supple. Craftsmanship is great. After my initial purchase I've bought two more for other rifles - 1895 Marlin Guide Gun, AKM, & k98 Mauser sporter. This is a sling not a carry strap. Its purpose is primarily to assist the shooter in hitting the target. It may also be used to tote the rifle. There is a particular was to rig this sling and use it effectively. Google m1907 sling instructions for further details. You can't go wrong with this sling if you're serious about marksmanship.
