RedHead Mesh Outback Hats
i bought this hat for the extra uv protection. a nice, wide brim and both the underside of the top and brim are lined to keep out those harmful rays of the sun. however, the mesh allows the sun through, so i have a little patch of red above my forehead. otherwise a good hat, and the mesh does let some air in to help keep your head cool. just put on some sunscreen.

Bought this hat after wearing one for a week last year in the Keys, that belonged to a buddy of mine.
Using the "cinch strap", it stayed on my head even while the boat was underway.
It kept the sun off of my face, neck, and upper shoulders very well.
I usually wear a baseball cap, so it was a huge improvement in keeping the sun off of my whiter-than-white skin!
The only "gig" against this new version of the hat is that the chin strap quality is much less than the older version one that my friend loaned me.
Honestly in fact, it's really cheesy and of poor design and does not stay cinched in place causing me to have to hold onto the hat to keep it from blowing off in a mild wind.
I quickly replaced their strap with my own strap made from a heavier nylon cord and a spring loaded plastic locking mechanism that I had lying around.
That did the trick, now my new hat is every bit as good as my buddy's hat. (I just have to "break it in", and it'll be perfect!)
Now, my buddy can have his own hat back when we are in the Keys!

Just received the hat, so I cannot attest to the long-term durability - but I can say the hat is very well constructed. This is a quality product. A great value for the price. Also, the medium runs true to size using the chart on the BassPro website.

I Love This Hat
The poor review at the top of this page is either lying or didn't actually read the product description before purchase.
The hat is -not- one size fits all. I bought a medium and my husband got an XL and they both fit perfectly.
I do agree that the chin strap is cheesy but replaced it with some heavy cord from a craft supply shop and it's great. The hat is incredibly comfy and the mesh keeps our heads from sweating too much in the hot summer sun.
I admit I did get different colors than the camo (Dark Brown and Olive Green) so I can't comment on the color of the camo version.
Considering that other hats cost upwards of 40 dollars, this is a great bargain for the money, even with having to replace the chin strap. (Tho since the strap is leather, you could, in theory, wash it or soak it and it would soften up and work better)
