The two top eyelets are square and too open for the laces. My husband complains that whenever he moves the wrong way, the laces pop out of the top eyelets and he must stop what he is doing and re-tie the boots.
He will take a pair of pliers and close the eyelets somewhat to see if it fixes the problem.

Everything seem okay. They fit as expected. Haven't been able to wear too much yet. Didn't like that they were shipped in the shoe box instead of in another box. It was a Christmas present and the picture was seen so it was obvious what it was.

Rated 5 out of 5Â by therabbi56 Dont look at other boots! Buy these!!
These are by far the best boots ive ever bought. I bought these for a fishing trip in Alaska and i got more from these boots then i ever thought i would get. I fished on the Deshka, Susitna, Knik Arm, and Little Souix rivers and they stayed dry the whole time. I even walked in knee high water that was straight from a melting glacier! Theyre really waterproof until you submerge them. They dry out very fast and are very comfortable. I cant find anything wrong with these boots.

These are among the best boots I've ever owned. They are very lightweight and incredibly comfortable. I have worn them for days at a time without any discomfort at all. They are perfect for short or long hikes or just everyday wear. I love wearing them to fall festivals because they can withstand the elements and navigate any kind of terrain. They are well built and still look new after a year of regular use.

I'm going on a 15 day backpacking trip in the rocky mountains in july and I have these boots. I would like to use them on that trip, but I do not know if they are good enough quality.Answers

They are more than enough. they are very durable, waterproof, and can hold up almost anything. I used them in for a two week fishing trip in Alaska and i never had a problem.A:Â
Average weight per pair: 2 lbs. 6 oz.Boots under 2½ pounds are known as lightweights. These usually look like hybrid running shoes/boots, and are generally constructed of suede, fabric, leather, nylon...in some combination thereof. Some lightweight hiking boots weigh in at barely more than a pound. The casual hiker will love these, while the backpacker will limp into camp.
Middleweights
These are boots that weigh 2½ pounds or more, decent weatherproofing, fairly deep tread. This is the average hiking boot, and suitable for most backpacking. Certainly suitable for backpacking.
