I played drums for many years so my hearing is not the best. I didn't want to spend $150 plus on another brand of hearing enhancer, and I found these at BPS on sale. I figured for the price it was worth it, even if they weren't that great. If there's any wind at all, even from a slight breeze, these will pick up it up and drown out everything else. It will also pick up distant traffic noise and make it sound like you're sitting right next to the road. Great in a quiet area as a hearing enhancer though. And don't forget to take the batteries out when you're finished using them. It doesn't have an on/off switch and turning the volume to 0 will still drain the batteries. Keep your expectations reasonable and this isn't a bad product for the price.

I've used these duck hunting and had what I would call an average result. For the price, I do not think that there is anything out there that is better. They have a good bit of wind noise, which is somewhat irritating and there needs to be a set of instructions included with the units but overall they are performing pretty well. I keep them in an empty pill bottle in by hunting coat, so that they are always there when I need them.

Used it for a Muflon hunt on Oct. 20-21. Sound was amplified good enough for me. Sound when my gun was fired was a little to loud for me, but didn't ring my ears. Need to work on that, but for the price its worth it.

Yeah, there are some issues. There are no real instructions, but would I have read them if there had been? ;-) Yeah, the battery size is NOT what is listed on the web site. There are 4 pairs included though. You can't turn it off by turning to "0". I found that out the hard was as well. They do amplify sound fairly well. They are not perfectly without noise, but at this price, they sound pretty good. I have not tried to use them around a gun yet. That will be my ultimate test. I had to turn them to a 1.5 out of 5, or it was TOO loud for my taste. If they will cut off when I shoot, they will be a GREAT addition to my hunting gear. I should be able to hear ducks wings better than ever!

no they will not shut off but the shot will only be as loud as the set volume.A:Â
Yes ... they minimize the noise of a gunshot. I cannot promise they turn off completely, but they do minimize the noise to a negligible levelDetails:Â
im 51 years old and have worked road cont. all my life and have been around alot of loud noises that has damaged my ears and so on, at night when we sit down to watch tv i have to turn it up so loud that others are putting there fingers in there ears, and i was thinking of trying something like this and was wondering how long of battery life they have. tyAnswers

Yes they will help considerably. I did try them with the tv but I do not know the battry life while in use. I do know that I left the batteries in the units in what I thought was in the "off" position and when I tried to use them a couple of days later the batteries were dead and had to be replaced. So if you use them for tv I would recommend removing the batteries after each use.A:Â
According to the paper work about 30hrs. I have been using mine about 30 hrs and they are working just fine. The batteries are very inexpensive so it works for me.A:Â
It will vary depending on use. There is no way to give you a number. Product requires more power for sound enhancement or sound reduction. One of the reviews on this page talks about power usage, it may give you some insight.1 of 1
