RedHead® Granite Peak Waterproof Hikers for Men
Good Value Good support "Hot Foot"
The Redhead Granite Peak is a good value at it's normal Price and an excellent Value on sale. Chose the Granite Peak over the less expensive Red Head Everest for it's Waterproof feature and a slightly better feel out of the box for me. the Sale price at the time was the determining Factor. After a few short hikes in 70 -80 degree weather I found the boot to fit well and have good support. My biggest negative is a "Hot Foot" effect. My best guess is the waterproof membrane is less breathable out of the box. I did notice when hiking in the cooler mornings in dewy grass ( wetting the boot slightly) the Hot foot was less pronounced. I'll update this review after a further break-in period to see if this lessens after a little more time and mileage. Overall though a decent boot and excellent sale value.

Good boot, but they're not true to size.
I bought these hikers to replace a pair of everyday hikers I've had for a while. The boots feel good, but the sizing isn't even close to being right. I wear a 12.5, but the 12.5 had my toes crammed right up against the end of the boot. So, I bought a 13 thinking that would solve the problem... Better, but still not a true 13 as my toes will still touch the end of the toe box.

Not very waterproof
I wear these boots every day. And yes they are very comfortable. However, walking through tall grass they got wet and were soaked through. You can step into a small puddle and not get wet as the bottom is waterproof, but the rest of the boot is not. I bought them because I thought they were waterproof, as advertised. If the top part of the boot can't get wet from some grass without my foot getting soaked, the boots should not be considered waterproof.

overall good-but narrow
I based my purchase on the price and the reviews. It turns out that they are definitely a good value. They do, however run very narrow. I should take a 9.5 EEE, however I have learned to get a 10 when shoes cannot be purchased in widths. These 10's are very tight. I am hoping that with wear they will stretch out and get more comfortable. At this price it is worth the gamble.
