Rated 5 out of 5 by James007 Excellent This is one pair of very comfortable hiking shoes. I started hiking on them right out of the box and didn't need any break in period. I was doing some serious hiking and totaled about 100-120 miles in 6-7 months before wearing out the bottom and now I am on my second pair (and bought a third pair too). Highly recommend them... and the price is excellent too, March 13, 2010

Rated 5 out of 5 by Walker34 My favorite shoes I have worn these shoes for at least 5 years now. I've got problems with my knees and back, but these shoes are the best for keeping those problems in check. In fact, when I wear them out, I just buy another pair. I appreciate the availability of this shoe in my size in the online shop. I hope Bass Pro keeps offering them! March 22, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by MCHolden Great outdoor shoe I just picked these up today and so far I am impressed. I intend to use these for everything from scouting to hiking to yard work and now that I'm wearing them, I think they will fit the bill perfectly. I was specifically looking for something rugged yet lightweight and breathable that I can wear almost year round in dry-to-damp conditions. These turned out to be just what I was looking for and the price can't be beat. They are very comfortable out of the box. The suede on mine is a little bit darker than the suede in the picture - which for me was a plus. A word of warning: these run really big. I wear an 11 or 11.5 in tennis shoes and a 12 in Redhead hunting boots but I had to get these in a 10! February 20, 2013

A:Yes, I wear a 9 and ordered mine and the fit was great
A:For me, these ran waaaay big. I wear anywhere from an 11 to a 12 depending on brand and type of shoe, but I got these in a 10. I probably would have been happy with a 10.5 also.
A:i got a 11.5 should have gotten an 11
A:I bought my pair online and size 11.5 nike is a 11.5 hiking boot. Fit perfectly. Do not jump the size up .5 or 1 or it will be too big. These fit perfectly and better yet they are really comfortable.
A:No they are not water proof. They are somewhat water resistant though - I've been sloshing them through some light snow today and they're doing fine.
A:No. They are a dry weather, light duty boot.
Details:I am going to be going to a three day backpacking trip which is 16 and a half miles long and it has slopes but not large mountain slopes..... So i was wondering would these be a good find for this backpacking trip? And are they waterproof? I dont remember finding it in the information given. Thanks
A:They don't have a lot of ankle support - may be something to consider. Not waterproof
A:I would have no problem hiking in theses, as for waterproof, no but with the addition of repelent they might be ok. I havent tried that yet but am in the near future
