Bring your decoy spread to life with the realism you get with these Old Squaw Floating Duck Decoys from RedHead. Each of these realistic floating duck decoys is cast and manufactured using taxidermy ducks as models—not an artist's interpretation of what a duck should look like. Paint templates and colors are based on late-season, full-plumed ducks, for the most lifelike presentation possible. Every decoy is flame-treated after each paint template has been applied, ensuring that each layer is baked on to withstand years of use in the harshest conditions. Each decoy comes complete with a weighted, removable ''Saw Tooth'' keel, specifically designed for lifelike movement. Even the smallest water flow across the teeth on the keel will create lifelike swimming action. Set includes 6 drakes and 6 hens.
- Quality, realistic Old Squaw decoys
- Based on actual taxidermy ducks, not drawings
- Colored like late-season, full-plumed ducks
- Designed to provide years of use, even in harsh conditions
- Weighted and removable Saw Tooth keel creates lifelike swimming action

While installing the keel on these decoys I managed to make leakers of the first six. The keel when installed all the way forward pokes a hole in the body of the decoy allowing water to enter the body cavity and sink the decoy, to fix the problem I nipped off the tip of the keel then installed the keel and glued it in place. The decoys themselves look good, time will tell if the hard plastic they are made of will hold up.

Never bought redhead decoys before. paint job is great and feels durable , thick plastic, great price, and life size. I will rig them on a gang line with scoters and harlequins. I dont understand the removable keel on a sea duck decoy but maybe it makes them more durable, I would think not. Lets hope basspro makes some scoter decoys next.
