Item is water proof and warm but is undersized, sleeves pull out when taking off and cuffs too tight.

Where do I start? This is the nicest hunting jacket/parka I have ever tried on, let alone bought.
If you are wondering about warmth, like I was, I bought this because I wanted to sit on stand all day comfortably. I wear extreme elements bibs and redhead tracker fleece as a mid layer and wool as a base and I have never gotten cold even in weather less than 10 degrees all day. I also love the fact that it has gore-tex in it and this combined with the warmth has extended my hunting season to all day every day the season is open, it makes me so much more effective as a hunter. There are more pockets on this thing than you will ever be able to use, a good thing. All the zippers are smooth as glass. The rain rolls right off this jacket, I sat all day in pouring rain and never got wet, one nice thing is the hood comes far enough out so that no rain will drip on your face, just a great parka. As far as sizing I am 6'1" 170 and I bought the large and it fits well. Get it.

I have had the Extreme Elements GoreTex parka and pants for several years now and they are absolutely GREAT!! I haven't been out in a lot of snow, but we have a lot of wind where I hunt and pretty cold temperatures as well.
I would highly recommend this parka and pants for your best outfit for cold weather hunting.

I first went with the cws parka and bibs in 2008 because they were cheaper, however they were NOT waterproof. They were okay for snow and cold weather but not rain. I took the cws system back and basspro returned them no questions asked. I then purchased extreme elements parka and bibs and they are truely waterproof and also the warmest system I have ever used, so if staying warm and dry is important to you then extreme elements with gortex is the way to go. Gortex is the only truley waterproof material I have found and it is worth every penny. The only issue I had with this product is that the sizes run small. I am normally a size 1x and had to buy a size 3x to be able to wear over clothing.

No, the insulation is in the inner jacket. But it is handy if it is too warm for the insulation and you are hunting in the rain.Details:Â

yes it does, also the top of the hood comes far enough forward so that the rain doesn't drip on your face

I wear a wool base and a fleece mid layer i usually pack in the parka/bibs and put them on about 100 yards before i climb in my stand, otherwise the insulation will insulate the cold air in like a cooler, so the last 100 yards helps me build up enough heat to warm up the cold air i sealed in when i put it on.A:Â
Just a long sleeve shirt and pants no matter how cold. If you wear too many layers you will sweat.A:Â
if you are going to hunt in 30 F or below i wear a base layer to soak up sweat, then i usually wear a hooded sweatshirt over that, then the jacket, i leave the zipper wide open for the walk in.Answers

I don't know, but i will tell you, i have had one for years, all my hunting buddies bought the parka an bib pants for northern IL deer season, and all of us are very pleased, all goretex, very warm, worth the investment.Details:Â

I have tested both and extreme elements is better by far. It is made with Gortex and is truely waterproof. CWS is NOT waterproof. It is okay for light snow and cold weather but not rain.A:Â

I wear Extreme Elements and have CWS system for my son.We wear the same size and have switched on occasion. In my opinion the Extreme Elements is slightly warmer, but both do a very good job of keeping you warm and dry !A:Â
From the reviews that I read, the Bone Dry was not as reliable for keeping someone dry as the Gore Tex. I purchased teh Gore Tex Extream Elements Parka and love it. You get what you pay for and believe me it is well worth the money.Details:Â
