Pursuit X1 Tripod
good product, good service
I purchased a RedHead tripod on line from BassPro . I am using it on my back porch to bird watch. Shiping was quick.

I recently purchased the pack model of this tripod thinking it would be better than the one which came with my spotting scope. The tripod is indeed compact and fits nicely in the carrying case, but it is not near study enough for se with a spotting scope. I installed on scope on the tripod, but the tripod screw mount is so flimsy that the scope shakes uncontrollably when it is barely touched. Also, the rubber feet on the pack model do not have metal spikes which can be exposed. (This is not clearly stated in the description of the product on the website.) The tripod may find use as a lightweight travel tripod for my camera, but it is not useful for the purpose I bought it for.

The tilt head broke off when the tripod was knocked over with my spotting scope on it. If you look closely you will see that it is attached by a flimsy plastic hinge like piece. It fell no more that 3 feet.
The quick diconnect on top was also not a tight fit so scope or camera was able to wiggle around.

It is what it is
The looks are very pleasing and it is very light. It is a good tripod if you are back packing and taking pictures with a light camera. I use it for holding a 20-60x60 spotting scope and it is good for that. It has a quick release base that you can leave attached to your camera or scope. It even has a level on the head platform.
I want to point out the lightness of the tripod because it is made for light usage. Another factor that makes it light is the use of plastic around the head.
It comes with a nylon case with a strap that makes it easy to carry.
