RedHead® Deluxe Neoprene Dog Vest
Give your hard-working dog some extra protection from the cold and brush with the RedHead® Deluxe Neoprene Dog Vest. This lightweight, 5mm neoprene rubber vest features a durable Kevlar chest guard to give your dog added protection from field hazards like briars, thorns, and barbed wire. Trim and cut construction allows for a great fit every time. Adjustable velcro "hold tight" closure system and reinforced seams for long wear. Removable flotation and built-in floating neck handle for water work. Dual closure zipper and hook 'n' loop fasteners. Color: Realtree MAX-4®. Imported.
Sizing Instructions: 1) Measure your dog's neck (about 3'' down from the base of the skull). 2) Measure around your dog's chest (about 1'' behind the front legs all the way around). 3) When measuring, be sure to keep the measuring tape snug for a good, accurate measurement. 4) Choose the largest dog vest closest to your measurements – the velcro closure will allow for some adjustment.

Vest works well..it could fit a lirrle better, but it keeps the dog warm and that is all that matters.

I had a hard time finding a vest that would comfortably fit my lab. This vest seem to be the answer. The fit is perfect and very little trimming was needed. However, the first time I put the vest on my dog the zipper broke. I returned the vest and replaced it with the same model. I don't believe this vest will last the season. I'll know more after the first cold morning in the blind.

Bass Pro changed the zipper on their vest from what it used to be. The new zipper is smaller, weaker, and just plain cheap. I have had to take 2 vests back for exchange because the zipper broke the first time putting it on the dog. The only reason I even took it back for exchange is no one else in town had a vest big enough for my dog. I am fixing to take the third vest back and get my money back since I am using another vest and season is about over. I will never buy a Redhead vest again unless they change their zipper. I had one that lasted almost two years of hard hunting, it had the heavy duty zipper. Bass Pro made a big mistake with the zipper change.

I'm looking for something for Northern Ontario Ice Fishing...I want my dog to be comfy so I can fish with no worries in conditions varying from:
+5C to -25C / 41F to -13F
slushy snow conditions in warm weather
glare ice and hard pack snow in cold
I'm worried that the fleece in other vests will get wet and that the neoprene in this vest will freeze...
Any suggestions? Is this a good product for what I need?
Note: My dog is a Boxer and she's rather small for her breed.

How warm would be too warm for my dog to wear it and not get overheated while wearing it?
Answers
A:Â
Contrary to what most people believe, dogs overheat more quickly than humans do. Also, there are many different factors that may play a part overheating; for example, humidity, size/breed of dog, and type of outdoor activity may affect how quickly a dog overheats. Please consult your dog's veterinarian for the best answer.A:Â
