These are decent quality, but your retriever can quickly chew the end and through the foam inside to release the sand that's there for weight. Can be sewn back up, but you won't be able to keep the sand in after the foam is punctured. Another layer of protection inside for the sand would have helped.

I bought this product thinking that canvas bumpers would last longer than the rubber ones. Unfortunately after 3 months, training my lab daily, in both water and field the seams on every bumper broke. I would recommend buying canvas bumpers however I would recommend a different brand.

The product works wonders, it feels like. My 4-month old yellow lab just loves them. I added duck scent and he can't get enough. He even began to blind retrieve and is now learning to wait for signals upon retrieving. Great product! Great buy!
