I've used a lot of Bass Pro products that I liked. This wasn't one of them. These 'Hikers' had less padding on the sole than any pair of tennis shoes I've ever had. It wasn't apparent until I was on ground that was harder than the carpet in the store. I wore them regularly anyway, for their waterproof properties. A little more than a year after I bought them, they started not being waterproof anymore. If you are looking for shoes to hike in, I'd go with the next level up, at least.

I wanted a pair of daily wear shoes that were water resistant. Tennis shoes have become all style, expensive with no function so I turned to hiking boots... surely they were better designed for walking though the grass. Maybe some are but not this pair of boots. The price was fantastic and figured at the price I could always go to a higher price model if they did not work out. Guess what I will have to do... They can't stand up to even dew on grass. On the plus side they were cheap and I found them comfortable.

I wanted a walking shoe for the winter which would be warm. These are waterproof due to a liner, and that makes them warm. With thermal socks, they're almost too warm.
The one thing that I don't like, which prevented the 5-start score, is the top "hook" for the laces does not grab well enough. Sometimes, with lots of stooping and ankle-flexing, the laces come off the hook, and the shoe gets loose.
I do a two-mile walk each day with the dog, and they're just right on a cold morning.

Great value for the money. Bought these during the grand opening of the new Bass Pro in Little Rock, AR. You can't go wrong with these waterproof hikers.
